U.S. Television Office, Inc.

What is the U.S. Television Office, Inc. (or USTO for short) and what does it have to do with Hopalong Cassidy?  USTO is an Illinois corporation that was formed in 1984 for the purpose of acquiring the Hopalong Cassidy estate, which includes the 66 feature films and 52 television shows, merchandising rights, and everything in between.  USTO is led by Holger Wrede, an international lawyer and lifelong Hopalong Cassidy fan.

Wrede secured all Hopalong Cassidy rights in 1984 and his efforts to restore the library culminated in a major license to Starz Encore’s Westerns Channel. Wrede has also arranged for a major museum exhibit of the Hopalong Cassidy Collection which toured to the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, OK, The American Museum of the Moving Image in New York City and the Gene Autry Western Heritage Center in Los Angeles as well as for 6 years in Wichita, KS at the Praire Rose Chuck Wagon.
